The Story

The amount of time and staff resources used in preparing for an audit can be extensive. With SVA’s help, Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board (WMMB) was able to reduce audit prep time and paper work by 20-25%. SVA was able to utilize work papers WMMB was already using which reduced the amount of time the board staff had to spend on compiling data. This reduced the overall time the audit team spent from 5 days to 2 days.

The Milk Marketing Board’s Senior VP of Finance and Administration, Jessica Rogers-Heintz stated, “SVA is a partner to us. They want us to be successful. They work with us to find ways to reduce our costs and make improvements in our processes that help us reach our financial goals”.

In addition, Members of the Milk Marketing Board regularly attend SVA’s Nonprofit Roundtable educational events. They estimated these learning opportunities save them $1,500 to $2,000 each year in costs they would have incurred in expensive seminars elsewhere, Rogers-Heintz commented. “We’ve found the SVA Roundtables to be very valuable by keeping us in compliance with changing laws and helping us to improve our business operations”.
