John Himmelspach, CPA, participated in the AICPA Practitioners Symposium and TECH+ Conference in partnership with the Association for Accounting Marketing Summit, June 11-13, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
John participated in a Pre-Conference Workshop about "Service Organization Controls - What Companies and Customers Need to Know"
This session was designed to provide a high-level overview of the reporting guidance and the intended uses of AICPA SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3 reports. It also provided an explanation of the development of the SOC reports, including the evolution from the SAS70 world.
Attendees walked away with an understanding of the value which these reports can bring to service organizations.
