SVA takes pride in the communities in which our clients, business colleagues and our professionals work and play. We support our communities by giving back in a variety of ways; volunteering both our time and expertise, fulfilling Board of Director roles, supporting fundraising efforts of local philanthropic organizations, and providing leadership in a variety of organizations designed to improve our lives within our communities.

    Foreword: A Grand Opening Gala for the Madison Public Library - Madison, WI

    The Madison Public Library Foundation will host Foreword: A Grand Opening Gala on September 7, 2013. This event will be the first glimpse by the public of the completed library, which is a project that took 18 months and $30 million to build. The gala will be a celebration and final fundraiser with all proceeds used to complete the foundations $9 million capital campaign.

    1st Annual MDA Madison 2013 Muscle Team - Madison, WI

    SVA Certified Public Accountants is a sponsor for the 1st Annual MDA Madison 2013 Muscle Team event, being held September 19, 2013 at Keva Sports Center Madison. Muscle Team is a sports dinner and auction held to raise much-needed funds for MDA. While this is the first year in Madison, this event has been very successful in other cities. The event pairs children who are losing muscle strength with athletes who can “flex their muscles” on the children’s behalf. The evening includes a pre-event VIP reception, a silent and live auction and a short program. The proceeds help provide comprehensive patient services, as well as facilitate MDA Summer Camp for kids ages 6-17 fighting a form of muscular dystrophy.

    MDA is the nonprofit health agency dedicated to finding treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research. The Association also provides comprehensive health care and support services, advocacy and education. MDA is the nation’s leading nongovernmental funder of scientific research seeking better treatments and cures for the more than 40 neuromuscular diseases in its program. Through its national advocacy program, MDA works to make life better for people with muscular dystrophy and related muscle diseases by providing representation in matters of public policy and research advancement, nationally and internationally; and facilitating active involvement in these areas by the people it serves.     JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes - Madison, WI

    On September 29, 2013, SVA employees, friends and family members will be walking together as a team in Madison’s Walk to Cure Diabetes benefiting JDRF. The event will be held at Madison Mallards Duck Pond at Warner Park.

    SVA is working to help JDRF raise money for diabetes research by participating in the 2013 Walk to Cure Diabetes. JDRF is the largest worldwide organization dedicated to finding a cure for diabetes. Each year 30,000 people in the United States – roughly half children and half adults – are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. It is estimated that 3 million Americans live with type 1 diabetes today. In a typical year, more than 80% of every dollar spent goes to research and education about research. Since 1970, JDRF has provided more than $1.6 billion to diabetes research worldwide including $116 million in FY 2011. Each day, this research leads us to better treatments for diabetes and eventually to a cure.

    National Philanthropy Day® commemorates and pays tribute to the contributions philanthropy has made to our personal lives, our nation and the world. National Philanthropy Day acknowledges the entire spectrum of services provided by the nonprofit community and recognizes the profound impact philanthropy has on the on our society.

    Rhapsody In Bloom - Madison, WI

    SVA is a proud sponsor of Rhapsody in Bloom in support of Olbrich Botanical Gardens & Society.

    This year’s theme, “Run for the Roses” features the excitement of the Kentucky Derby, bringing the spirit of Churchill Downs to Madison complete with Derby hats and mint juleps. The evening begins with live music, hors d’oeuvres and cocktails in the Gardens. Dinner will be served under an elegant white tent on the Great Lawn.

    There is both a live auction and silent auction featuring exclusive packages & experiences, a variety of items and container gardens designed by Olbrich's horticulture staff.

    2013 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

    The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series, the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world, raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.

    Komen for the Cure is the global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested more than $1 billion since its inception in 1982. Komen's promise is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures. Across the U.S., that promise is upheld by a network of 123 local Affiliate offices.

The event highlights CORE’s New Pilot Project of exploring a new reflective collaboration model for building effectiveness of organizations, consulting and the relationship between them. CORE brings together organization, consultants and funders in the greater Madison area to build capacity for social justice, social change, advocacy and community building work.

    SVA United Way Campaign - Madison, WI

    2012 SVA United Way Campaign, Madison WI

    The 2012 annual SVA United Way Campaign took place during the week of September 10-14th. This year's campaign took on a carnival theme for a fun and informative way to learn more about United Way and some of their represented agencies as the office was magically transformed into a Carnival Big Top. There were fun packed activities including clowns, balloon animals, games, prizes, candy, hot dogs, popcorn and so much more during the lunch time carnival. In addition to the carnival and pledge drive employees held a bake sale, pie raffle, balloon auction and employees had the opportunity to donate to wear jeans throughout the week.
