BENEFITS, PERKS, AND WELLNESS OFFERINGS WITH YOU IN MIND

SVA prides itself on being able to offer SVA team members a comprehensive competitive list of benefits. Many of these benefits are often overlooked until you need them or discover them on your own. It is important to note the major benefit package SVA offers, as well as the “just-in-time” perks we added for when personal needs arise, putting You First!

This is your quick reference guide to make you aware of all that SVA has to offer you. All of the necessary details for any items are available through the Human Resources page on the SVA Intranet or by talking to an SVA HR professional.

CORE BENEFITS

Health Insurance

SVA provides a variety of health plan options meant to fit any SVA team member’s needs. These plans are competitive to other firms our size in the market and are comprehensive with competitive rates. To make certain you are making the best choice for what you need, the HR department offers the opportunity to attend a plan review at the beginning of every new benefit year. If you are having a difficult time understanding the ins and outs of the plans SVA offers, don’t hesitate to contact one of our HR professionals.

Prescription Benefits

Prescription coverage is part of your medical plan premium. Check in with Human Resources to review the costs associated with the medical plan of your choosing if you have specific questions, otherwise all information is in the Benefit Section of HR’s Intranet page.

Dental Insurance

This is a highly sought-after insurance coverage provided by SVA’s PPO plan administrator Delta Dental. With low deductibles and preventative care covered at 100% and basic services at 80%, there is no reason not to take care of all of you and your family’s dental needs.

Vision Insurance

Eligible employees may enroll in this voluntary vision plan for themselves and their qualifying dependents. The employee pays for the premium fully, however the coverage rates are inexpensive and the plan covers a good portion of the exam, frames, lenses, and contact lenses. With being on a computer all day, look into taking care of your vision.

Bereavement Leave

All employees are eligible for leave in the event of a death in their family. In the case of death in the immediate family, employees will receive up to three days leave with normal wages. If additional time is needed or in the event of a non-immediate family member’s death, please use your available PTO.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

This is tax-free option for you to determine where and how you spend your healthcare dollars. Eligible reimbursed expenses include the employee’s portion of group health, dental and vision insurance premiums, out-of-pocket health, dental, vision and dependent care expenses. Check out the Bestflex Plan Summary on the HR page located on the SVA Intranet for details.

Health Savings Account (HSA)

This account allows you to put dollars aside to defer healthcare costs through an HSA with UMB Bank. SVA Team members may make pre-tax contributions through payroll deduction to an account with UMB Bank. SVA will also provide an annual contribution to UMB Bank HSA employee accounts based on the level of SVA health plan coverage.

Life Insurance AD&D

Insure yourself at our cost! Eligible employees are enrolled in a group term life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance policy equal to 2 times their base salary up to $250,000 maximum at no cost to the employee. Plus you have the ability to add to this insurance through an after-tax payroll deduction if you want to add additional dollars to the benefit.

Long-Term Disability

SVA is willing to insure that money is coming in if you are injured or sick. The firm will pay for a policy that covers up to 60% of your monthly salary for the duration of your incapacity for full-time employees.

Short-Term Disability

SVA is willing to insure that money is coming in if you are injured or sick. The firm will pay for a policy that covers up to 60% of your pre-disability salary up to 11 weeks for full-time employees.

Retirement 401(k) Profit Sharing

Explore FREE money, this is a whole lot of good from SVA! The 401(k) plan has both a pre-tax 401(k) and an after-tax Roth 401(k) option for employee contributions. The firm MATCHES ½% for each percent you defer, up to 3%. In addition, each year SVA will consider a discretionary profit-sharing contribution. SVA team members are fully vested in this benefit after 6 years of continuous employment.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

SVA encourages its employees to take time off to rest and recharge! The PTO year is defined as September 1st through August 31st. PTO hours MUST be used by August 31st of the following calendar year, or remaining unused hours will be forfeited. You will receive prior to September 1st the hours you have available to you to use before August 31st. You are allowed to carry over up to 40 hours into the next PTO year.

Employees may donate their own earned and unused PTO hours to the PTO Donation Fund to be used by a co-worker in need. Employees must be employed by SVA for a minimum of 90 days to be eligible to donate PTO. Donated PTO hours may only be used for time off related to the applicable personal situation. Check in with the Benefits Manager.

Flexible Time Off (FTO)

FTO is available to all exempt SVA CPA and SVA Consulting staff. This policy allows you flexibility in determining when, and for what reasons, you need to take time off. It also allows flexibility in your work schedule and recognizes you for getting your work done, and focuses less on when you have to work to get that work done. It is important you understand the guidelines around FTO and work in conjunction with your immediate supervisor.

Paid Holidays

Celebrate with SVA as we recognize eight major “paid” holidays per year.

Jury Duty

This is your civic duty and SVA encourages you to perform this responsibility when summoned. All employees will receive their normal wages, less any payments as a result of jury duty for the time expended in a normal day (up to eight hours) and up to five working days.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

Additional Voluntary Life AD&D

Employees working an average of 20 hours or more per week may purchase additional life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance for themselves, their spouses and their children.  Premiums are fully paid by the employee through after-tax payroll deduction.  Coverage is effective the first of the month following 30 days of full time employment.

Accident Insurance

This insurance is available to all SVA employees for purchase to protect you against the costs of accidents “off-the-job”. You will receive payments associated with a covered injury and its related services. You are eligible to purchase this insurance if you are an active employee who works 20 hours on a regularly scheduled basis.

Community Involvement

Being involved can be as little or as much as an SVA team member prefers. SVA will offer a variety of ways throughout the year to give back to the community. Examples include food drives, team-structured activities such as walks or runs, volunteer opportunities, and/or serving on a board of directors.

Critical Illness Insurance

Don’t let your serious illness devastate your finances. Major medical insurance may pick up most of the tab, but can still leave out-of-pocket expenses to add up quickly. Critical Illness Insurance is available for employees to purchase and can provide a lump-sum benefit upon diagnosis that can be used however you choose.

Full-time and part-time employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week, and who have worked at SVA a minimum of 90 days prior to the birth, adoption, or placement, are eligible to take up to two weeks of paid leave. Paid parental leave will be in addition to an employee’s earned PTO.

Maternity Leave

In addition to the two (2) weeks of paid Parental Leave, all birthing mothers are eligible for 100% of their earnings while on a Short-Term Disability-qualifying pregnancy-related leave. Our Short-Term Disability policy (see page 23 of the Benefits Guide) covers 60% of your pre-disability earnings up to a $2,500 weekly maximum. For pregnancy-related leaves, eligible employees will receive the remaining 40% of their earnings through SVA payroll (up to a maximum of four or six weeks, depending on the type of delivery).

Remote Work

Our company values the balance between work and personal life and offers remote work for certain positions with supervisor approval. This flexible arrangement allows employees to work from home or a location of their choice, while still being able to complete their job duties effectively. Embracing the option for remote work is just one way we strive to create a positive and supportive work environment for all of our team members.
